The Beauty and Value of Fine Art Photography Prints
You are about to enter the photographic and artistic world of Aldo Cervato. Fine art photography is presented here as an interpretation of the world through the eyes of an artist who has an instinctive method of composition and also the ability to make a unique artistic expression of a familiar place through the art of fine art photography.
Mr Cervato's galleries have been recognised internationally and featured in the book, 'Fine Art Photography', publications such as the 'Professional Photographer Magazine', 'British Journal of Photography' and various other magazines and newspapers.
Aldo is an award-winning photographer whose work covers many familiar locations with his unique eye for perspective and composition. Within his fine art photography galleries, cities such as London, Paris, Rome, Venice and Kyoto - the former capital city of Japan - are expressed with an artistic professionalism.
The photographer was born in the suburbs of Verona in Northeast Italy and living so near to Venice, it comes as no surprise that black and white photos featuring the timeless wonder of this unique city are included in his photography galleries.
The distinctive architecture, the narrow alleys and the canals provide so much inspiration for his fine art photography. Aldo has acquired an increased awareness of this unique and wonderful city and has captured beautifully the colourful events that regularly take place, such as the vibrancy of the Venetian carnivals.
The architectural expression of these timeless cities is captured in black and white prints, and not only are the familiar landmarks immediately recognised by the viewer, but the deep history and philosophy of human civilization is captured for all to see.
One example of an image that expresses such a concept is one of a single arch photographed from the Coliseum in Rome. A Lunar eclipse in progress, a truly rare occurrence, is captured and framed within the arch, giving it a stunning result. It also echoes an ancient story in Roman history where even then, eclipses were mathematically calculated and predicted. That knowledge enabled Cicero to win the war against the Macedonians 2000 years ago.
It was the city of London that first inspired Aldo to become a photographer. He lived there for more than twelve years, appreciating the contrasting styles of architecture, the museums, and amongst other things, the colourful markets and street performers in Covent Garden. The contrasting architecture and magical elements of London provided the backdrop for exciting and unique images.
The black and white photography you can see here is just a small selection of the images that Aldo has captured over the past twelve years. An up-and-coming project will be a new book which will be a photographic essay on London.
Aldo fell in love with the captivating city of Paris more than a decade ago. Each year he returns to take fine art photography of the fascinating architecture and to capture the changing moods of this romantic city within the different seasons. He likes to take photographs that portray the laid-back way of life of the Parisians; the way a kissing couple in the park are oblivious to everyone, or perhaps how people sit playing chess or reading a book - normal, everyday activities that provide interest when captured as black and white photos.
The black and white images from Kyoto, Japan, portray the dreamlike quality and beauty that the artist found when he visited there many years ago. The classic Japanese style of the architecture was displayed in the 400 Shinto shrines and 1,600 Buddhist temples, providing mesmerising interest just waiting to be captured with fine art photoraphy.
An exhibition of black and white photography by the great master, Elliot Erwitt, greatly inspired the artist, as did the black and white images on display in art galleries in the United States. Although in the past, Aldo has worked from his own studio in Italy using staged or posed subjects, he prefers to capture images from real life – perhaps a laughing couple, someone walking through the park or black taxis in the London traffic. This spontaneity portrays movement and emotion, adding interest to the images. Those special moments come alive when captured for all to see.
What better way to portray a moment in time? See a jealous dog in Rome, a London cab splashing through puddles, or a couple holding hands in Saint Marco Square. When it comes to fine art photography, Aldo regularly returns to classic black and white film, and although most images featured in the galleries are in black and white - 35 mm, large-format film - some have been taken with color.
As Aldo prefers to concentrate on the creative aspect of photography, he rarely works in the dark room these days. He has commissioned Imagekind, one of America's top art printing companies to produce his photographs into high-quality giclée prints. All of the images you see here in his fine art photography galleries, are available as fine art giclée prints on canvas or paper, with the options of being framed or unframed. All of the photographs found in the fine art photography galleries are suitable to enhance any interior design requirement.
