Aldo describes Japan as a very surreal and enchanting place. During a short holiday visit to Japan many years ago, he was immediately impressed by the dreamlike quality and beauty of Kyoto, Japan’s former capital. Classic Japanese style architecture was gorgeously displayed in the 1,600 Buddhist temples and 400 Shinto shrines. Aldo, mesmerized by the captivating sights began to feel like a typical Japanese tourist seen in Venice; looking in awe, and taking photographs of everything. In fact, Kyoto is considered the Japanese version of Venice. The photographer plans to return to Japan one day in order to record its unique character in the form of a compelling photographic essay.

Medium: Black and White film, Kodak Tri-x, mainly 120 medium format. Images may appear too bright or too dark on your screen depending on the calibration of your monitor, however the final prints are guaranteed to be faithful to the original image.
