On his occasional visits to Rome between 2004 and 2008, Aldo always brought a camera along, though he did not always return home with a camera. In addition to it being a magnificent location for photography, Rome is also a city notorious for thieves. Rome is also a city ripe with opportunity for street scene or candid photography. The Jealous Dog sequence (above) is a perfect example of everyday life in the lively Eternal City. Aldo was instinctively aware that the dog was going to perform a “street scene,” and what resulted is a classic illustration of the spontaneous moment captured in time.

Medium: Black and White film, Kodak Tri-x, 35mm and 120 medium format. Images may appear too bright or too dark on your screen depending on the calibration of your monitor, however the final prints are guaranteed to be faithful to the original image.
